Top Five FREE Social Sites For Marketers

If you’re looking for the top social marketing sites for your online network marketing business, you’ll want to review this list of the top five free sites. Now, these aren’t marketing sites, they’re social sites. But if you are a responsible social marketer, you can have great success through these sites and build a following.

Here’s my top 5 and where they rank on Alexa.com:

5 Facebook. Can’t ignore success. Facebook is currently number 5 in overall worldwide traffic. Facebook is the most professional free social network. It’s a great place to meet up with old friends, connect with new ones, and advertise your business. If you’re not on Facebook you’re missing the boat. Just don’t be an annoying “spammer” constantly blasting out links and messages, add value to the site, and try to attract people to your opportunity, instead of chase them.

7 Myspace.com Coming in at number 7 over all, but I still don’t like it. Too spammy. Too many ads. Just a personal preference, but I don’t use it in my marketing. But I do include it in the list, because many people disagree with me and love myspace.com, so at least check it out and make your own decision.

17 Hifive.com I ignored this one for a long time, but not anymore. I am now actively engaged, and enjoying hifive. It’s easy to make friends, it’s a cool interface, and it’s rising in traffic. The groups are still pretty small for the most part, but expect that to change as the traffic continues to rise.

44 Friendster.com This is an OK site, but not friendly to marketing because it’s too difficult to meet new people. A cool site, but I’m not using it personally. But again, others are, so make up your own mind about it.

94 Tagged.com I’ve had a love/hate relationship with tagged, but I’m liking it more and more. It’s getting lots of traffic, there’s a lot of great people there, and it’s easy to make friends and to communicate with them. I especially like the “Post Bulletin” area where I can post links to my blog etc. I get lots of traffic from that, and have met some fantastic people and good marketers through it.

So there you have it, the top five social sites for marketers. I’m using three of them, actively expanding my network of friends and business associates on a daily basis.

If you’re new to social marketing, I recommend you check them all out, open free accounts, and just start with one of the services for now, while you learn the ropes.

And NEVER forget the cardinal rule: social comes BEFORE marketing in social marketing! Most marketers are really just annoying spammers, and give the rest of us a bad name! Don’t be that person, just professionally build your network, give value to the site, and participate in the groups and forums, and you’ll have great success!
