OK, Before you think I’m just a lover of “shiny things,” and about to make an excuse for buying a cool new toy, let me tell you why you NEED an iphone 2 in your online network marketing business.

In 1994 I met Professor Paul Zane Pilzer at his Park City, Utah home. It was a meeting that changed my life. I left with a signed copy of his book, Unlimited Wealth, which I devoured. The book is amazing, but the one principle that changed everything for me was the concept of the “Technology Gap.”

Simply put, the Technology Gap is the difference between the technology AVAILABLE, and the technology you are USING. And the bottom line is this: whoever has the smallest technology gap wins. Period. See, WalMart isn’t the worlds greatest retailer because they have the best prices, they have the best prices because they have the best technology. When your item is scanned at KMart the cash register knows about it, when you scan your item at Wal-Mart the producer in China knows about it. The technology of their supply chain and operation is the best, which makes them the best.

Since then I have made it my mission to always have the smallest technology gap possible, personally and professionally.

So, back to the iphone. I now have all my files, e-mail, and contacts synchronized between my phone, home office iMac and office G4. When I delete an e-mail on my phone, it deletes it on the other two. When I create a doc at my home office, the other computers are up-dated. My entire digital world is now synched. That’s all cool.

But in addition, I can now TWITTER remotely. I can access the internet 24/7, from anywhere. I can access Facebook from the phone, not just a cheesy “mobile” version, but other peoples profiles, pics, etc, and I can post to my profile.

I can take a picture, tagged with my location (the iphone has a built in GPS), up-load it to Flickr, and pull it into my blog or invite anybody to look at it.

It has great reader software, that allows me to up-load my marketing e-books and read them whenever I’m waiting for something or somebody, helping me be more effective in “dead time.”

In short, I can do what I want, from where I want, with who I want, whenever I want.

And yes, I do like “shiny things” so the fact that it has a GPS, iPod, and a million cool games and apps that are being created and up-loaded DAILY right now is great too!
