How To Get Your Name On Google

Want to learn how to get your name on Google? It’s easier than you think. I was able to grab 37 of the top 50 spots, and all ten of the first page, by doing some pretty simple things. And if you don’t think it’s important to get your name on Google, guess again! The Wall Street Journal says, “You’re a Nobody Unless Your Name Googles Well.”

Wow! So here are ten suggestions that will help you get your name on Google:

1. Submit articles to ezinearticles dot com. They are extremely good at getting your name ranked highly on the search engines. As a matter of fact, my ezine article submissions rank higher than my own sites!

2. Create your own web-site. Your name should be a prominent keyword on your own web-site. If you don’t have a site, get one! It’s easy and cheap.

3. Create a blog. Again, make sure your name is prominently featured. There are plenty of free blogs out there, but my recommendation is to get a wordpress blog that’s hosted on your own server. Again, that may sound hard, but there are plenty of services out there that make it extremely easy to do.

4. Facebook. Get a free account at facebook. Make sure and fill out a complete profile. A facebook profile gets indexed fairly quickly and will rank high for your name.

5. Buy your URL! For example, if your name is bob smith, buy bobsmith dot com. If that’s not available, try bobsmith1, or 2, or 3, etc., or bob-smith. As long as it has your first and last name in it it will work. Do this right away, because domain names are disappearing fast!

6. Join linkedin. It’s another free site. Again, just fill out a complete profile and it will get ranked.

7. Join naymz. Another free social site that gets indexed quickly.

8. Sell a product online.  A couple of years ago, I wrote an e-book, and listed it for sale at Amazon, among other places. That listing still ranks highly for my name! And you don’t have to write a complete book, you can write an inexpensive report about something you are an expert in, and sell it cheap. Who knows? Maybe you’ll make some money along the way!

9. Submit Videos. Create videos about things you enjoy, products you market, etc. Submit these to the internet and they will get ranked quickly by the search engines.

10. Ramp it up! The tenth principle is simply take these other things to the next level. For example, you can submit your articles in many places online. You can also create social profiles at a lot of different sites. The key is to be active, and aggressive.

There are basically three kinds of names:

-Rare names that have thousands of results.
-Medium difficulty names that get hundreds of thousands of results.
-Common names that get millions of results.

Your success in getting your name on google will depend a lot on how popular it is. But don’t be discouraged! Most people aren’t taking control of their web-presence yet, so you have the first mover advantage. Just be consistent and persistent, and soon your name will be up in lights!
