Cool Story On Goal Visualization
I picked up this cool story on goal visualization from Jack Canfield’s book “The Success Principles.” (One of my new favorites, by the way!)
It’s about Jim Carrey, the comedian.

Jim Carrey- Goal Visualization
Around 1990 he had travelled from Canada to Los Angeles to make his fortune, but he was starving. He drove up to Mulholland drive, and sat there dreaming of his future.
While he was sitting there he got an idea. He wrote himself a check for $10 million, dated Thanksgiving 1995, and added the notation, “For acting services rendered.”
From that day on, he kept that check in his wallet. Sure enough, his hard work, positive visualization and talent paid off and by 1995 he had starred in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dum and Dumber, and income per picture was at $20 million per flick!
When his dad died in 1994, he placed the $10 million check in the coffin as a tribute to the man who had nurtured and supported his dream.
I like the story so much I just wrote myself a big fat check and stuck it in my wallet!
To your success, Dave.
