DNS, DNF, Finish, Medal
An interesting comparison between my Triathlon world and my online network marketing world…
In a race, there are basically 4 possible outcomes:
DNS= Did not start.
DNF= Did not finish.
Finish= crossed the finish line, sweet!
Medal= one of the top three males or females overall, or within an age group.
As I checked the results of my last race I realized how much these criteria apply to ANYTHING people set out to do. There are those who don’t even get started (DNS). Now, these people signed up for the race, they paid their entry fee, but they never made it to the starting line. That’s a pretty sad thing. What percentage of people “sign up” for online network marketing and don’t even start? I don’t know, but from personal experience I know the number is HUGE.
The DNF (did not finish) crowd is probably as big as the DNS group. They start, the race, but they’re just not going to finish. They realize part way through that it’s freaking HARD so they quit.
The finishers are the ones you admire. They cross the finish line. No excuse will stop them, not even an injury. They’re going to cross that line “come hell or high water.”
Medalists. They’re few. But once you finish a couple of races and see those people get a medal the wheels start to spin and you think, “I can do that!” And now you are past the point of just finishing, you want to finish FAST! And in online network marketing, that’s where the big money is.
So if you signed up for the race, make sure you stay the course until you at least FINISH, but if you’re going to finish, why not finish fast and go home with some HARDWARE!
