Here’s some good reasons to generate your own mlm leads:

1. You will always have fresh prospects to talk to.

2. Your prospects will be more qualified than “purchased” leads. (No more data entry or furniture assembly “work from home” leads!)
3. Your leads will always be real time, something lead stores charge extra for.
4. Once you master the skill, you can scale up your efforts, the more leads you get, the more recruits!

So how to you do it? Well, you just need a few tools and a little bit of internet savvy. Here are the things you’ll need:

1. A capture page that offers something of interest to your target audience.
2. A “Back Office” that stores your leads, and allows you to take notes, categorize, e-mail, and sort.
3. An auto-responder that automatically sends follow up messages to your prospects.

The easiest way to get a capture page is to simply use an existing one. You can either join an affiliate program that offers an item for sale that only MLM marketers are interested in, or purchase an online lead generation system. If you have the skills, you can build your own, just make sure the headline is great, your offer is strong, and that your lead capture box converts visitors into leads.

The back office should have plenty of boxes to capture info into, such as additional e-mails, phone numbers, spouse information, categorization methods (hot leads, drip file, source, etc.) and should allow you to take notes on your contact with the prospect.

The auto-responder should contain pre-written e-mails, and must be well written and give your prospect information that they want, not just the sales pitches that you want to give them. You should also be able to send out regular “blasts,” one time messages that go out to all your leads at the same time, offering specials, news, announcements etc.

And type in your URL. It will tell you your blog value using just one criteria: links. In my case, it thinks my blog is worth $1,129.08. Not very much, dang it. But would I actually SELL my blog for that much? Obviously not.

Let me tell you what it’s REALLY worth to me. According to google analytics, my blog currently gets 6,093 visits per month. Now, many of those are from a coop, which costs me $75 a month, and the visitors from it are fairly low quality, but it provides me a lot of leads so it more than pays for itself.

But the traffic I want to really value is the natural traffic, 3,643 of the visitors.

Now, follow me on this. My blog is focused on the network marketing industry, specifically online network marketing. My PPC campaign that I run on other online network marketing campaigns costs me an average of .47 cents.

So each visitor to an online network marketing site, according to the very fair market price determined by Google itself, is 47 cents per click.

Now, I get 3,643 visitors per month FOR FREE to my blog.

3,643 * .47 = $1,712.21 PER MONTH! That’s $20,546.52 per year.

In other words, if I didn’t have a blog with natural traffic, I would have to pay $1,712.21 a month to buy that traffic, but instead I get it free at my blog. Very cool. And it’s fun, I enjoy it.

Here’s the top 5 tips for generating mlm leads (low cost or free!)

1. PPC (Pay Per Click) OK, so that’s not big news, but his recommendation to focus on the social marketing sites is a great reminder. Facebook, Myspace, etc. all have PPC services that are still a lot cheaper than Adwords and can be more targeted as well. Translation: better quality leads for less money!

2. Use Google’s new KNOL service to post articles (this is brand new!):

3. Craig’s list. Again, not “breaking news” or anything, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve never posted anything there! One of those great tips I need to implement. I can’t believe how many people I meet that still depend solely on their company created sites, and if you ask them about building a business online they say “Yes, my company provides me a web-site.” Really? And exactly how many leads did it produce for you last month? How many recruits? How compelling is it? What’s the conversion rate…

The fact is, company provided mlm software is a TINY portion of what you need to build an online network marketing business. As a matter of fact, prospecting software is 10 times as important as a corporate site but very few marketers have it.

Then there are the “gurus” that tell you to get Aweber for your autoresponder, GDI or sitesell for a personal site, hire a copy-writer and web guy to build a funded proposal etc., and all that will work, but it’s WAY too complex and expensive for the average person, so it doesn’t DUPLICATE! And if it doesn’t duplicate, DON’T DO IT!

Here’s the mlm software I have used for two years. It generates me leads every day, I can categorize them, send e-mails through it, there’s a built in funded proposal, training, everything I need. Then when I do have a serious prospect I can send them to that “corporate site” for an overview of my company.
